Top Two Fundraising Ideas for Dance Competitions: Tips and Tricks from a Dance Mum's Perspective

As a dance mum, I know first hand how challenging it can be to raise funds for dance competitions, especially in tough economic times.

Sometimes it's crucial to find creative ways to fundraise to help our children pursue their passion for dance. Fundraising not only helps us raise the funds we need, but it also teaches our kids the value of hard work and determination.

We need to remind our kids that money doesn't grow on trees and every penny counts.

Here are my top two fundraising ideas for dance competitions:

1. Sponsor a number: Create a list of numbers from 1 - 50 and ask family and friends to put their name next to a number. Each number represents the amount they will sponsor you. If you secure all 50 numbers, you could score $1275 in your fundraising kitty. This is an excellent way to engage your loved ones and raise money for your child's dance competition. You could even create a social media post or a video to share your sponsorship idea and encourage people to participate.

 2. Get your friends involved too: Why not team up with your friends and each secure 30 prizes for a particular month of the year? You could ask local businesses or friends for donations or offer some homemade baking as a prize. The trick is to get enough prizes for one month. Then sell tickets at $10 per ticket to win one of these prizes. They will have 30 entries for $10! Each day of the month, you draw a prize winner. If you and your two friends sell at least 100 tickets between the three of you, that’s $1,000 (nearly $300 each!) which can go towards your kitty.

Fundraising for dance competitions doesn't have to be stressful or overwhelming. It can be a fun and rewarding experience for both you and your child. Don't be afraid to try something new and get creative.

Remember, it's not all about having a deep wallet - every little bit helps. So let's band together as dance mums and support our children's dreams!
