Welcome to my Blog!

Hi, I’m Julie. Having spent years as a dancer and choreographer, these days I have hung up my glittery shoes and can often be found cheering on my daughter Mckenzie (Macca as she is normally known on the dance floor) from the sidelines – I consider myself the ultimate Dance Mum.  And trust me, I’ve still got the spandex and glittery hair accessories to prove it.

As a "dance mum," I’m a regular at dance competitions in Auckland and the Bay of Plenty regions. But don't let my dance mum status fool you – I still believe I’m a force to be reckoned with when it comes to my own dancing skills.

While I may not be competing anymore, I’m always ready to bust out a few moves (or at least attempt them) at any given opportunity especially when Macca is learning new dance routines– this is Macca’s dance teacher’s worst nightmare come true!

So if you see a woman in the front row or side stage busting out moves while her daughter performs a jazz routine, hey it's probably me. Come and say hi and join me.

Despite being a busy dance mum, I’m currently busy crushing it in the corporate world as a full-time HR director, having spent years as a General Manager of many hotels around NZ and Australia.

But let's be real, juggling both roles isn't always easy. There have been times when I’ve found myself trying to do a tap dance routine while on an MS Teams call (it's a good thing my coworkers can't see me). And let's not even talk about the time I accidentally sent a group email filled with dance costume examples to my entire team. Oops.

But don't let my professionalism fool you -  as I said I’m the ultimate Dance Mum, always ready to support and pass on all my years of knowledge to the NZ dancing community.
